What’s on the menu for our first RD Kitchen…Greek yogurt! While you have almost certainly heard of it, you may not know why it is a better choice than regular yogurt.

Consider the following when choosing a Greek yogurt:capture

  • When it comes to flavor, be cautious of added sugars.  Dairy products have natural sugars, so the label will never read 0 grams. Choose products with 7 grams per serving or less.
  • Dairy products contain saturated fats which increase your blood cholesterol. For this reason, choose non-fat or low-fat Greek yogurt.
  • Brands that are closest to these recommendations are Oikos® Triple Zero and Siggi’s®.
