The One on One Push-up Challenge is open to all clients and trainers at One on One. The objective for the challenge is to perform the specified number of push-ups in the shortest amount of time possible.
The contest will last for 6 weeks, starting Monday, April 11th and ending Sunday, May 22nd.
Rules
- A full push-up requires lowering yourself until elbows are bent at 90 degrees, touching the target (trainer’s fist or yoga block) with your chest and then returning to full extension at the top.
- The participant may use any combination of work and rest to accomplish the task.
- The timer will begin with the start of the first push-up and will run until the participant has completed the target number of reps.
- Participants must communicate which category they will be competing in prior to their first test by letting their trainer know. (appropriate age category or open category). The trainer will place the participant’s name on the appropriate score sheet.
- Participants may test one time per day, up to 4 times per week, on non-consecutive days, throughout the 6 week period.
- All participants must be accompanied by a trainer during all tests for scores to count.
- The trainer will record the scores on the appropriate score sheet next to the participant’s name.
- Trainers will compete separately from clients in all categories.
Categories
- Clients Open – Male 75 floor push-ups, Female 45 floor push-ups
- Trainers Only Open – Male 75 floor push-ups, Female 45 floor push-ups
- 70 and up – Male 35 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 9, Female 25 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 11
- 60 – 69 – Male 55 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 8, Female 35 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 10
- 40 – 59 – Male 55 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 7, Female 35 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 9
- 25 – 39 – Male 75 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 7, Female 45 incline push-ups at smith machine at level 9
- 15 -24 – Male 75 floor push-ups, Female 45 floor push-ups
Scoring
Prizes will be awarded for:
- The top 3 times in each category
- The top 3 in terms of percentage improvement from the first test in each category.
