A specialty of Harrison’s Wine Grill & Catering

Kit Henshaw, co-owner and business manager of Harrison’s, is also a successful One on One client.  She has begun adapting some of Chef Harrison’s recipes for publication.

Make your own healthful dressing with no preservatives and made with recommended mono-saturated fat.  This dressing works well on a mixed greens or fresh tomato salad or on a sandwich and is also good as a marinade for beef.

  • 1/2 c. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/8 c. Balsamic Vinegar (a three or four year aging is plenty for a dressing – and no aging will also be Ok)
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder OR 1 small clove of finely minced fresh garlic

*Whisk together all ingredients.  For greater emulsification use an immersion blender or your kitchen blender.  Don’t over-mix!
